Governor Stitt’s Executive Order  ___________________________________________________________________

Dear Calumet families:

This year we have implemented many new policies and practices to protect the safety of our students and staff and to help slow the spread of COVID-19.  Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt recently issued an executive order that will require an additional adjustment for our indoor extracurricular activities.

Effective immediately, the order temporarily mandates schools and other entities reduce attendance at youth extracurricular events by allowing only four spectators/audience members per participant – up to 50% of the building’s official capacity. The order, which will last for at least 30 days, applies to all Oklahoma public and private schools so restrictions will be in place for out-of-town games as well.

At this time, the new guideline will affect the following programs and events for our district: JH & HS basketball games and performing arts events.

We know it is important to our students and their families to experience these important and memorable competitions and celebrations together. We are doing everything possible to support our Chieftains, while also following this new requirement and continuing to place safety as our greatest priority.

For sporting events, four tickets each will be provided to Calumet athletes for every game, match and meet through at least the second week of January. For more information or to request additional tickets, if numbers will allow, please call (405) 893-2222.

For performing arts events, four tickets each will be provided to Calumet performers for every event through at least the second week of January. For more information or to request additional tickets, if numbers will allow, please call (405) 893-2222.

Please remember that Calumet requires students, staff and guests to wear masks and social distance while on campus. If you do not feel well, please stay home.

We appreciate your support during this challenging time. Thank you for continuing to support our students – their safety and health, as well as their pursuit of excellence in their activities. Go Chieftains!

Sincerely,

Brandon Voss, Superintendent Calumet Public Schools
