What a week!
The March MADNESS test prep week was full of learning, and a little fun too! We analyzed poems and song lyrics to see which ones advanced in our literacy bracket. We read about the history of basketball, the history of the March madness tournament, and wrote about several of the all time great players. We had a reading challenge, grade average challenge, and multiplication bracket.
Congrats to Coen Taylor and Kross Stilley for winning the multiplication bracket and the reading page challenge. Thanks to Mrs. Kate & the library, they are the proud new owners of a smartwatch!
& a shoutout to the 5th graders who won the overall assignment average over 6th grade. 🏆🏀

Due to the school lockdown there will be no Cals and Summit today.

***UPDATE***
The Calumet Police Department has given us the green light to do a controlled release of students. Bus riders and students being picked up by parents are being released. We will give rides to students who are planning on walking home.

Calumet Public Schools is currently under a lockdown. All students and staff are safe.

3rd & 4th Grade GT had to build a basketball hoop and catapult to celebrate March Madness. They also competed in a multiplication March Madness tournament!

Do you know a kid that would love to throw the first pitch at a high school baseball game?! STUCO and Baseball have teamed up to raise money for CHS Student Council! A silent auction form will be kept in the concession stand at the next 2 home games or you can make a bid by emailing Kristy Meschberger.

Congratulations to Calumet High School Senior, Payton Barnes! Payton has committed to Northeast Texas Community College where she will be competing in breakaway and team roping for the NTCC Rodeo team.

Today's softball and baseball games have been canceled due to rain. (Friday, March 8th)
